Did I do that seriously? All alone? I've been telling myself that for two days as if in denial. Of course, before I tell the whole story, I have to thank Extremerate for the detailed video. It has helped me get through almost everything. I bought my gray Switch during the pandemic. The counters were sold out at the time, except for the gray ones. The color never really suited me, so I bought a well-designed pink switch decal from Etsy. This went well for several months. But then the small crusts and cracks could always show the hidden gray. Now I've done a few small battery changes on the laptop, but opening up a tiny device and taking all of its parts out is completely new territory. But surprisingly, after watching YouTube videos (especially extreme ones), I suddenly became very self-conscious. That's when I bought the case and hardware to make my Switch pink! I started this in October (yes, 5 months ago since I wrote this). Like any noob, I had a few bumps along the way. A screw had already snapped off the metal plate after I was able to remove it. Everything was almost going smoothly until I removed a screw and accidentally broke off a very small piece of the motherboard. (Yes, I was there and asked the question ๐). Keep in mind that this was all on me, although the video urges you to be careful at every step. But after all the hard work and months in the making. I proudly showed my family a fully functional ROSE SWITCH. They were excited to see it after all this time and I can't believe I was so determined to see it through to the end. I also feel a lot more aware of what's in my switch and what's what. The reviews don't lie, this really is a 'hard mode' challenge and in true Tami style, I, a level 1 noob, jumped right in. But I will say it, my fellow noobs, if you have the true confidence to do so after watching the video, understanding the risks, and preparing for the long journey. Don't let doubters stop you!
