Before you do anything like me, please be aware: Noctua specifically states that this is a 5V fan and connecting to 12V ports is the can damage the motor or the fan blades. However, out of curiosity, I bought 2 of these fans and placed them on my radiator. I use them on 12V outlets and at 100% speed they spin up to 3000RPM. At that fan speed they move a ton of air, are significantly quieter than the NF-F12 iPPC 3000 fans and lower my CPU temp at full load by 10 degrees Celsius compared to the regular 12V, 2000 rpm version of the A12x25. I've been riding them for a few days and they seem great. for now. I have no idea how this will hold up over the long term, but you can expect them to wear out the motor fairly quickly and of course there's no guarantee if it fails. I may update this review in the future to see how long they last, but remember this is at odds with Noctua's product description and will void your warranty. If you are willing to risk the money you spend and expect only the best performance from A12x25 fans, go for them.
