I don't know what they did with it but it's awfully hot. For example, you could burn your fingers if you're not careful. I wanted to test it properly, so I got a long copy (110GB). It ran at full speed (380MB/s) for a while before slowing down. In the end, a copy error occurred and the drive spontaneously disconnected. When I tried to plug it back in, that is, physically unplug it and plug it back in, I nearly burned my fingers. After reconnecting (everything was fine, no bad blocks) I measured it with a kitchen thermometer and it exceeded 126 degrees Fahrenheit. If I had an IR camera I could probably get more accurate readings, but it's stupidly hot for a flash drive, and it doesn't overheat and shut down, so I know it got hot the first time! So yes. If you're only using it for a few minutes at a time that's probably fine, but BE CAREFUL if you're copying a lot of data or leaving it plugged in. It's all metal (aluminum?) and gets very hot.
