First of all, let me say that all my life I've taken the combination of bathing and showering for granted! I've always had the edge of the tub to place my overflow shower head, but most importantly, I was able to put my foot down while shaving my legs. Now that we bought our first home, the master bath is a granite walk in shower which made shaving a bit difficult. The shower itself had a couple of built in corner shelves but they were all too tall for my tiny foot (I'm 4ft 10in :) and it was a nightmare to completely double up in the shower every time I had to shave be. . I've looked at some very expensive teak shower benches and couldn't bring myself to spend those $$ unless I shave too often. But this stool is perfect! Sturdy enough to use as a seat whenever I can. I didn't get tired of standing in the shower but then again it probably only works for me as I'm very petite but putting my leg up to wash, exfoliate and shave is best. Great for packing extra shower essentials when I need them, or allowing wet clothes to air dry until the shower turns on. The stool folds up and can be pushed behind the toilet for storage, but I just always leave mine in the shower. I've had it since July 27th and I haven't noticed any mold or rust on the stool but only time will tell. At this price I would happily buy again if any of these points turned out to be a problem.
