Review on Radio Alarm Clock HARPER HCLK-2044 Black by Ada Wodarczyk ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

Tired of waking up in the middle of the night and fumbling on the floor in search of a mobile phone to find out the time. I remembered a dream from my Soviet childhood - a large electronic clock with green numbers. Bought and realized that they justify their price. At first it seemed that the clock was standing still, because. the colon sign between hours and minutes does not blink, but as it turned out, it was intended. Apparently, so as not to interfere with sleep by "garland" flashing. The most important advantage of this watch is the display. It is bright, dimmable, and quite informative. Seen from the other side of the room. It also immediately shows which of the alarms is set at the moment. You can use the radio as an alarm clock, which I advise you, because. the standard signal is not very good. I was confused by the location of the alarm buttons: the alarm on the left is set with the button on the right, and the alarm on the right with the button on the left. You can get used to it. It is a pity that there is no option to set alarms by day of the week. You can store up to 10 favorite radio stations in memory. I caught about 5-7 pieces in my city, you can calibrate using an external antenna, which is a small piece of thin black wire in insulation. In general, it catches on a C grade - noises and not all stations of the city were found. If you plan to take it only because of the radio, then you should probably look at other models. Although, perhaps, if you have a good coverage area, then I think it will be quite normal, but I do not guarantee. There is only one speaker. The volume is enough to keep the information content in one small room, but it lacks the purity of the sound, add here the noise from poor reception. In the event of a power outage, the clock also turns off, but if batteries are installed in them, the settings will be saved. Bottom line: a good radio clock (more clock than radio), fully consistent with its price (1100 on 02/20/18). Satisfied with the purchase. It remains to find out only one parameter - reliability. As they say, "time will tell". 11/17/2022 the radio clock is working stably.

Pros
  • 1) Large display with large green numbers (there is a model with red numbers); 2) The presence of a dimmer; 3) 2 alarms; 4) Ability to set the radio wave as an alarm clock; 5) 10 memory cells for radio stations; 6) "Snooze" button; 7) Battery backup to save settings.
Cons
  • 1) One speaker, not very loud and clear in sound; 2) It is not possible to set an alarm for the days of the week. Either every day, or manually turn it on and off; 3) Not quite, as it seemed to me, the logical arrangement of the alarm buttons; 4) No stopwatch and timer; 5) Weak external antenna. 6) The radio still catches on C grade.
