I have a lot of Manfrotto racks and I'm just used to this quality and durability. This "Conxtrue" stand is made fairly cheaply. I can't imagine using it every day. I have no doubt that it will fall apart over time. Luckily, I probably won't be using it too much. My biggest gripe is the curved pivot plate, which adjusts the angle of the boom once it's extended. The cocking lever cannot be tightened enough to hold the weight on the boom end and hold the boom at the desired angle. The pivot plate really needs some notches to lock the lever in place, like a knuckle mount. The ONLY way to keep the boom from moving is to sandbag the appropriate amount of weighted material to literally balance the boom in place. A pull lever will help some, but it will NOT keep the studio light upright! Maybe a microphone, but that's about it. Despite these shortcomings, I remain. I knew this was not a true professional product. But like I said, I don't plan on using it all the time. Oh, and the yoke that attaches the sandbag to the end of the boom is a piece of lightweight junk! Ditch it and buy something more reliable at your local hardware store.
