Review on ELAC Integrated Amplifier Silver EA101EQ G by Antonio Scisson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very good but with a few notable flaws

Many other reviews are related to sound, inputs, performance etc and they are all really good. The minimalist style is great and was the main consideration in my purchase. However, there are also some disadvantages. I found the software to be a little buggy and the buttons on the device itself didn't work very well. I keep hitting the power button before it occasionally lights up, which is just a little annoying. I used to leave it on all the time, but found that it doesn't always turn off automatically like it should, and one of the names I typed is now burned into the display, which is also annoying and hard to read. Speaking of that display, it's practically useless because it's too small to see unless you have a close view or are on it. Couple that with burnout and it's pretty gross. This is very bad because I hooked this thing up to the main stereo in my house which is connected to a TV, player, computer etc and it's not as good as I was hoping. The display and the remote control were my top priorities as many of this model's competitors are even worse in this regard. But unfortunately. So 5 stars for sound, input and size (love this powerful amp of this size for small rooms). 3 stars for the price (a bit high IMO). 2 stars for less usability. Ultimately, despite the positive aspects, I would not make this purchase again. I could get a similar setup for half the price.
