These boots are good quality and very attractive. I wouldn't call them disastrous though. Their appearance is due to the dye on the skin and is more mottled between black and brown. The skin is smooth but not shiny. The fit is precise and good. My feet are 28cm heel to heel so I took 9.5 and they are snug but not too tight. very convenient. They will take a little time to reach their true comfort potential. Measure your foot with your socks on, especially if you wear thick or winter socks. Don't assume they are made in the USA because they are Milwaukee leather, they are made in Pakistan. I rarely give 5 stars but 4 wasn't enough.
