I use the Kreg pocket hole tool quite a bit which results in some pretty gross holes that need repairing and patching. These stubs do a pretty decent job of accomplishing that. While in theory they should just slide right into the remaining hole, in my experience, for every 5 you make, you can get 2 that will "exactly" work. The rest is either raised or uneven or just looks bad. They sand up fairly easily, however, and you can get the same uniform look back with putty and paint. But I didn't try to paint them. I've used both official Kreg brands and these for the price - you can't beat them. Apart from the price difference, you can hardly tell a difference.
