As a child, butter was always on the counter in our family, but usually on a small plate. I was looking for a capped oiler, but didn't want the typical ceramic detachable capped oiler. I stumbled across this and love it! There is a place in the back to "store" the next stick, but I decided to leave a roll of coins there to secure the plate. The plastic is so light it slips. Cast iron would be very cool!
