Review on Celestron Adapter Barlow Universal T Ring by Bashar Shaffer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent product, saves money and pleases with the result

I am very happy with the purchase. First small cons. When I connect my DSLR WITHOUT a Barlow to this T-Adaptor, it doesn't focus. I have to use Barlow to focus. This isn't a major disadvantage for me though as I always use Barlow with my DSLR otherwise the magnification is too low so I don't care if it doesn't focus at lower magnification. I make sure it's in perfect focus at 2x magnification. Then the second negative point is that the adapter itself dangles a little in the focuser, it seems to me that even after tightening the screws it can fall under the weight of the camera. but the truth is that it didn't fall and I even moved the telescope from one place to another while the camera was still on it. Now for the big pluses. Barlow is impressive. It works great as a Barlow eyepiece for any regular eyepiece, simply screw it onto the eyepiece and its magnification will be doubled. When I bought this I was really tempted to buy another eyepiece - only Barlow because I thought it wouldn't work the way I wanted (even though I knew it was compatible) but I tried it and bought this one just to try. It was the best solution, a real money saver. Due to the price of this product, I think the image will definitely degrade to some extent when used with regular eyepieces. but so far I see no humiliation at all. They remain as clear and perfect as without the use of the Barlow instrument. While (as I said) my camera doesn't focus when I'm not using Barlow, when I use Barlow with it (which it always does) I can even focus on close ground objects (500 feet or more). fewer). I wasn't expecting this, but it allows me to capture not only the star (main use) but even close-up views of the surrounding Andes (review written from Ecuador, South America). To me, that's the real "2". in a 1" product I would recommend it to anyone looking for a T-adapter for their DSLR. I would give it a 4.5 if I could but Celestron could work on the two negatives mentioned to make it a perfect 5/5 for me PS Equipment used with this product: Dobsonian Orion XT6 Telescope Eyepieces 25mm and 10mm Sony Alpha A55 digital single lens reflex camera with T-mount.
