When I moved into my house, the Onkyo multimedia system was working 14 speakers for 5 zones. The previous owner used impedance matched wall mount 5 zone volume controls and an impedance matched speaker switch. He worked 5 years, after which the amplifier failed. I wanted to control each zone with separate amps, so this 12 channel (6 stereo) amp was the perfect solution. It's VERY flexible! It features 2 dedicated unbalanced stereo buses and a dedicated channel input that can be selected for each channel. Each of the 6 stereo channels can be bypassed, and each stereo channel has left and right channel trims. Three pleasant surprises: 1.
