Review on πŸ’» Acer Spin 5 SP513-52N-85DC: Full HD Touch, Core i7-8550U, Alexa Enabled, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, Steel Gray Convertible by Ray Mcknight

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I spent 5 minutes moving the window across the screen with my finger.

My general opinion is that the Spin 5 is great for those looking for a comfortable netbook. Its light weight and size make it easy to fit in a backpack or book bag, and it has pretty decent battery life. , which switches to impressive if you keep it on sleep mode, giving you plenty of time to work or play depending on your mood. The SSD combined with the fingerprint scanner means very fast boot times, I can turn on the computer normally. and get on with what I want within a minute. For such a small screen it has amazing clarity and color, I never had trouble reading what was on the screen even when it was a few feet away from me. The touchscreen is so much fun, switching between tabs or windows, reading PDFs or playing around with art programs is very easy. All future laptops I buy will be touchscreens, just because it's so simple and easy to use, I usually use a USB mouse instead of a trackpad, but with Spin I don't have to. The only negative is that the keyboard faces outwards when switching to tablet mode. So when I carry it or use it as a tablet, I feel like I break the keys or accidentally type something, Windows automatically disables the keyboard, but the feeling of pressing the keys is still there. The other issue is that it tends to get a little warm when you block the fan, almost enough to burn you out. Therefore, if you really plan on using your laptop on your lap, a cooling pad is a must. Both complaints I have are relatively minor compared to the versatility and ease of use offered by the Spin's design, and I look forward to seeing how future iterations stack up as SSDs get smaller and cheaper, perhaps in the future model? All in all, this is a handy and fun little addition to my electronic arsenal. my hand on a wonderful machine on a frankly tight budget, so thanks to Revain.
