Review on Devmo Compact Enclosed Powered Subwoofer by Julie Lee

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good bass, good price

Fits perfectly under the passenger bucket seat of a 1991 Toyota SR5 pickup, definitely worth $90. Hits pretty hard considering the volume of the box, gets some surprisingly low notes and gets pretty loud. I took a look inside the unit, it has a full-size 10-inch speaker that looked okay in terms of build quality; interesting woofer design - big but not huge magnet, HUGE (5?, 6"?) voice coil and the cone/surroundings is incredibly hard - like I pressed HARD to test excursion and the cone moved Hardly that's probably why it works The big, deep, hard bass with no distortion I've heard - just a solid speaker amp is the same general purpose Class D plate amp found in all traditional metal cased low frequency subwoofers is used and it seems ok to have some nice features like variable low pass filter, adjustable bass boost, 0/180 phase shift, input gain and a phone cord style remote bass control with power LED I was able to do both don't Bad wiring - I haven't used any of them x although it could probably work for a while (8 gauge CCA power wire, sketchy plastic AGU fuse stop he with 60A fuse that blew on arrival, 10 or 12 inch CCA ground wire, really weird, thin 18 inch CCA remote turn on wire, but a reasonably good bass control with a decent length phone cord. All in all if this thing lasts a year or two I think it's worth it!
