Review on Nagoya NA-771 SMA-Male 15.6-Inch Whip Dual Band (144/430Mhz) Antenna for YAESU, Vertex, TYT, and Wouxun Radios by Ryan Eastman

I have a couple of Tidradio TD-H5 portable radios. I bought this antenna to try on one of them to see if reception improves. Firstly, it is suitable for this model of radio, but not ideal. The base of the antenna is smaller in diameter than the corresponding hole in the radio. So the antenna is well screwed, but there is a clear gap around the base of the antenna. I was able to soften this up with a few different sized o-rings to "seal" it. As for improving reception, it doesn't seem to be much better. Maybe I would notice a difference in certain situations, but not in the usage I tried. I'm confident that this Nagoya antenna is a quality product and probably proof that the Tidradio factory antenna is good too.
