Thick enough to wear on a scooter and doesn't fall off, but not so thick that it leaves an ugly mark on my forehead. Ideal for the cool spring and fall or mild winter days. Or cool summer nights in the desert/mountains. Since there is no lining, it is breathable. Great color. Casual enough to wear anytime, but nice enough to wear with wear it with a nice, more formal outfit when you don't want to freeze. My head is oval shaped, 22.5" at its widest circumference. Seems to be well made. It's still fairly new but I've worn it a few times and it's great doesn't have any major lint or scuffs yet, which is pretty cool.
