My mom always taught me to vacuum my mattress every time I changed the sheets. She explained skin cell shedding, dust mites, and how these things can wear down the mattress faster over time. Because of this, I ALWAYS vacuum my mattress every time I change the sheets. There are conflicting variations on this theory, but I always empty my vacuum before vacuuming my mattress and I'm amazed at how much the vacuum actually sucks out of the mattress. So I bought this cover, vacuumed the mattress until there was nothing left in the collection chamber. I put the cover on the mattress, a bit worried it would be like my friends making a rustling sound with every movement, but this cover is absolutely silent! It was easy to put on, I sewed our king size myself and it saved me a ton of vacuuming time. I still use a mattress topper on top, but that's personal preference. I've also used a heated mattress pad over the winter without damaging the cover or pillow. I'm renovating my grandson's room and will definitely be adding one to his Casper mattress.
