Very soft top but not tummy flattering compression at wide waist If you want comfort and freedom they are great My measurements are much larger than the XL on the size chart (waist 35 hip 48) but they fit me Very stretchy EDIT: They are so comfortable I went back and bought a 5 pack! I also bought a pair of longer ones to wear under clothes to prevent chafing on my thighs. However, I still wish the compression pad would flatten my tummy. I have very big hips and thighs/butt compared to my waist, so it's very difficult for me to buy clothes. In fact they are a little tight at the waist with the elastic at the top and they don't dig into my hips at all! Very soft and stretchy. But they don't flatten anything.
