It's hard to tell the quality from the photos but I thought it was more rubbery than my original plug. I was surprised that it was a hard plastic but was happy that it was extremely durable. I don't think this fork will break any time soon and I have faith that it will hold up to years of abuse. The ring built into the top half of the fork was a nice feature that gave me a better grip when inserting or removing in posts or alternators. Inside the connector is marked (moulded into the housing) with the correct wire positions (black, white, green) and I have a feeling that someone with no experience could hook this up properly using the instructions provided. You can physically remove the pins for easier wiring and just plug them back in when you're done. Make sure you install a strain relief in the top half of the connector (one with a ring) before attempting to mat the two pieces together, or it won't close properly and you'll wonder why it's not a flush fit. I really like the product. I would have no hesitation in ordering another if I ever need one and would recommend this item to anyone looking to upgrade their original fork and upgrade to something more ergonomic and modern.
