I bought this camera as a gift for someone who lost everything in the recent fires. My friend is used to plugging in a USB cable to charge his camera(s) after use and, well, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." I spent $229 on a gift , which turned out to be a disaster, and now I'm buying a replacement. USB charging is standard on even the simplest of devices and has been for over 15 years. Many devices have USB ports purely for easy charging with standard cables/chargers (even for devices that don't require USB for data transfer). How Canon can eliminate standard features like USB charging from a $229 camera is stunning.
