Great camera.

Amazing image quality in full auto mode. Better yet, install it to order. The video is great too, but I still use my sports action camera most of the time. A piece of advice: never use the digital zoom on a camera. Same goes for this one. I'll turn it off asap when I get the cameras. Enjoy; it's definitely worth it. If you want more optical zoom, go for the 40x sx720, but get a small tripod because no shake and "virtual" no shake are two big differences when shooting, lol.

i love canon This camera is very easy to use.

Bought this camera for my wife. I previously had 4 other Canon cameras. i love canon This camera is very easy to use and shoot. Very simple controls, just turn on and shoot. It turns on and is ready to shoot in just 2-3 seconds. My pocket Nikon probably starts up in 20 seconds which misses some great shots. The zoom lens on this camera is incredibly powerful for a pocket camera. You don't need digital zoom, which I've disabled for clarity. absolutely love it. woman too. She won't let me use it.

No USB charging - I regret buying it as a gift.

I bought this camera as a gift for someone who lost everything in the recent fires. My friend is used to plugging in a USB cable to charge his camera(s) after use and, well, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." I spent $229 on a gift , which turned out to be a disaster, and now I'm buying a replacement. USB charging is standard on even the simplest of devices and has been for over 15 years. Many devices have USB ports purely for easy charging with standard cables/chargers (even for devices…

Nice little camera

Nice little camera. Takes good photos and zooms well. Before that I had a few Samsung cameras, I'm a surveyor and every day I take a lot of photos and the camera has to go in my bag and falls.

This camera never ceases to amaze me.

This camera never ceases to amaze me with its outstanding performance and quality. Widescreen or normal 4x3 aspect ratio for videos as well as normal photos are available in "Settings". I'm a documentary photojournalist and sometimes I need to steal a video clip from a place I'm not allowed to enter as a professional videographer. I just set the video to 4K and rotated it. I look like a tourist shooting a home movie or taking pictures. I was very surprised when I merged a video scene shot with…

Good color rendering, very poor sharpness

I can't tell you how disappointed I am with this camera. I wanted to point and shoot which would be a step ahead of my Samsung S7, which mostly does well in photography, but I wanted better macro photography and better color accuracy; Samsung does a terrible job of blurring out the reds. The color accuracy of the Canon SX620HD is pretty good. Unfortunately, none of the photos I've taken so far are sharp. I took photos in full light, used the settings correctly, and half-pressed the shutter…

it's just good. I used to have my NIKON DX with me.

I'd gladly pay $500 for this camera if I had to, it's that good. I used to always have my NIKON DX with me whenever I looked around the house, but after Hurricane Harvey hit my hometown I decided I needed something more compact, rugged, lighter but still good enough to shoot HD photos – Quality in all conditions. I love the Bluetooth option as I average about 250 photos a day looking around houses. Battery life is excellent, and I only noticed a drop in battery life after temperatures dropped…

Bring back the function wheel, Canon!

I received this camera to replace my stolen SX-280. Revane suggested this as a 'newer model' of the same camera. My two main needs are shooting photos for my food blog (the Canon's color temperature is spot on for that across the line) and shooting movies and telephotos of sporting events for kids. The benefit of the latter is that the zoom is 25x versus 20x on the 280. (By the way, when I get a new camera, I immediately turn off the digital zoom. You don't want extra noise in the picture. Just

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • Unreliable

I always put negatives first. 1. This camera's clarity at 25x is not as clear as one might expect. 3. It has the usual post shoot lag time (not just for those Elph powershots, but usual for point and shots. So here are the positives. 1. This camera has up to 20 details which is amazing. 2 , If you can not only set the ISO in a program to what you really need in low light, on a small tripod to avoid shaking, but especially, and I only discovered this about 4 weeks ago, you can your I have a new…
