Many years ago I had a Creative Labs jukebox. When it died I replaced it with an iPod touch. When he died I wanted a new player so I started looking. After several cheaper attempts (and returns), I think I've found my player. What I like is that it runs Android. I have an Android phone so the learning curve was almost flat. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C connectivity and you can connect headphones. Basically it sounds too big. I don't use the HiRes feature, but I'll probably look into that as well. (My library consists almost entirely of MP3s). It connects to my car, computer and bluetooth headphones. However, it sounds particularly good on my Bose QC15 headset. Everyone complains about the battery life but I will mainly be using it in the car where I can charge it on the go so I don't have to worry about anything. I've had it for a few days now and the battery seems fine. The time will show. Here's my breakdown. Pros: - Android, if you are familiar with this operating system, you will love this device. - The sound quality is amazing. - Search and browse functions. Really good, search by song, artist or album. - Random mode when I feel random. - Couples with everything so far. - File transfer is very easy. Make sure your ID3 tags are up to date for maximum functionality. - Buttons on the side when the screen is off and you can lock it so you don't accidentally hit the butt while fishing it out of your pocket. - Cassette player screen saver for us old folks to remember. Cons: - When I bought it, it cost $348. It's a bit expensive for me, but I love my music. - It's small, which is good for your pocket, but not great if you have big fingers. I can do it, but using a smaller screen is more difficult. Unknown: - There seem to be frequent complaints about battery life here. I don't know but I don't think it will be a problem how I want to use it. Again, time will tell. Conclusion: This device reminds me of my iPod Touch, which was basically an iPhone without the phone part. This is an Android phone without a phone but with a really good DAC.
