updated my player with some major problems.

I rarely write reviews but I couldn't resist buying this one. Before I pulled the trigger to buy this I checked out a few YouTube reviews. One of the reviews mentioned the (terrible) battery life, but I didn't think too much about it because the reviewer said their device needed a charge in about 2 days. Here I am completely beside myself: the battery is drained when idle, not even used! Do you mean that seriously?! Since this particular device uses the Android/Google OS and has many apps…

Pros
  • Use Wi-Fi to stream and download music with your favorite Android apps
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Really good midfielder.

Many years ago I had a Creative Labs jukebox. When it died I replaced it with an iPod touch. When he died I wanted a new player so I started looking. After several cheaper attempts (and returns), I think I've found my player. What I like is that it runs Android. I have an Android phone so the learning curve was almost flat. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C connectivity and you can connect headphones. Basically it sounds too big. I don't use the HiRes feature, but I'll probably look into that as…

Not for everyone, but it could be your next

See, I want to start by saying that I think this device is NOT for everyone. Unless you're used to Android, you won't enjoy using this device (unless you're willing to go through the settings and tweaks that Android offers, which for me is the fun part). Numbers aside: battery. Android eats battery, it always has and always will unless Google somehow manages to make more money off better batteries. If you're annoyed with having to charge your DAP at least once a day when you're a heavy user…

Pros
  • DSEE HX Al analyzes song type and recovers compressed audio files
Cons
  • Exchange availability

Stop Supporting Sony - HORRIBLE Technical Support

The worst thing about this player is its "technical support". These are low-level "techies" who are basically checklist monkeys. Your job is to follow a flowchart put together by a middle manager whose ultimate goal is to do whatever it takes to deny there's a problem. I say this as an ENGINEER who wrote the software and made the actual hardware for such devices. Your "technical support" will find every little thing not to take responsibility. Did you connect it to Sony headphones, did you…
