Well I'm a Milwaukee fan, when will I find an M12/18 tool to replace a corded or pneumatic tool? count me However, this heat gun does not live up to expectations. First of all, this tool cannot completely replace the connected heat gun; and I'm assuming freight traffic in the port. The first test with the gun was the Baby 2.0's battery and heating the Subaru's side panel to roll up the fender edge. I didn't have high expectations, but this battery died before the panel was warm enough to turn the wing. The next test was a 5.0 battery to heat the WRX intercooler up to the turbo clutch. It's hard plastic and doesn't forgive the cold when trying to get past the turbo. Took about 40 seconds while a line gun takes 10-15. It fits me. While the gun was still hot I warmed up the valve cover vent lines and just installed them. The battery still showed 4 divisions. Last test, the main reason I got the gun was the heat shrink tubing on the wire connections. I decided to pop in a large 8.0 battery for my vacuum cleaner and in about a minute I pulled the entire stereo wiring harness (16 wires). The benefit of this gun is that it heats up/vents less, it doesn't get much heat where I'm not aiming it, so I didn't overheat a lot of wires like a wired gun. I usually solder and then shrink one wire at a time with a network gun, but this one allowed me to do it right away without melting the screen. Tl;Dr? It does not replace the mesh gun, but is excellent for heating rigid tubing and shrinking heat shrink tubing. I also have an M12 soldering iron and the two pairs are a great combo for running wires without pulling cables or using butane.
