Okay, I give up. I bought this inexpensive fingerprint scanner thinking it could speed up my desktop. Mea culpa for what I thought cheap would be good for fingerprints. I switch between profiles for different tasks, so the idea that I could just use my fingers to make things easier was enticing. I was wrong. The recognition rate was initially low, but acceptable - maybe in 2/3 of the cases. I bought this in March. Six months later, it comes down to recognizing my fingerprint, maybe once on that blue moon we had yesterday. (And yes, I regularly replace my fingerprint files to account for changes in my fingers.) This device consistently fails to recognize a fingerprint when the computer wakes from sleep. He recognizes the imprint better when switching between profiles, but even then fell below 50:50. Today I updated my fingerprints AGAIN and he VERY didn't recognize them right away. So I give up. Wasting time with this scanner just to enter your password or PIN does not help the work. And the irritation factor increases. I'm giving it two stars for its ease of use and the fact that it worked for several months. But honestly, that's going in my E-Basket bucket for my next HHW recycling trip.
