I use it to take Instagram photos of pastries and I'm very happy with it. Depending on how you arrange the items, it will fit a 12" cake or possibly more. I mostly use the matte side, but both are useful and easy to clean. The blade seems strong yet very flexible. For those who complain that it's too tight, keep it in a larger tube (or a triangular FedEx mailing tube) to loosen it up a bit.
