Purchased in March 2018 based on very positive feedback from Wirecutter. The range on this one is absolutely meager and very disappointing. Literally just a few meters. I have cheaper receivers with much longer range, and for the price (which isn't high, but still) I thought it would be acceptable. No, that is not so. None of my devices can be more than a few feet away or the signal becomes incredibly intermittent. When I'm sitting on my little back porch, I have to make sure it's on the side of the shelf closest to the clothes I'm sitting on, otherwise the audio keeps cutting out. And I say 3 or 4 feet max. Some more skilled electrical engineers posted a simple looking hack in one of those Revain reviews, where they soldered a small piece of metal to make better antennas. I wanted to try but didn't know how and they never responded to my request for more information. Also, a very annoying thing: let's say I'm listening to a video or some kind of music track. This track ends and I miss more than a very short time, it cuts the bluetooth connection with my device. I didn't measure the time but it only seems to be a few minutes or less. This is very annoying. working in the yard, listening to music, the music stops until I get to the porch, to put something else in line I also have to reconnect the bluetooth. 1st World Problem, sure, but very annoying and pointless. I almost forgot: even if my laptop or phone is already connected to this device, when I start an audio or video track, it takes a few seconds before the sound is actually heard. That is, the video plays, but there is no sound for a few seconds. I often have to rewind to the beginning to hear everything that was said. Very annoying. I cannot recommend this device. Currently buying a (hopefully) better option. Too bad I just returned it.
