Review on ๐Ÿ™๏ธ Thule Sleek City Stroller: The Perfect Urban Companion by Fred Griffin

A nice, reliable, expandable stroller that causes too much user frustration

This is a very complex review. I really wanted to fall in love with this stroller, there is so much going on that on paper and when it is in your hands for the first time it is very easy to fall in love with it. As soon as you start using it, the little issues start piling up and frustrating you. So here are the pros and cons as I see them. Advantages: * Very good pushing and steering properties. Aside from features and style, it really is the most important feature a stroller should have, along with ease of getting your child in and out, and this stroller delivers on that. Thule Sleek makes it easy to move.* Flexibility. This stroller has many options and configurations. You can add a glide board, carry bag, second seat and more. The possibilities are almost limitless - this really is a truly flexible platform that will grow with your family.* Folds up with the seat attached. Unlike other high-end strollers, Sleek can be folded with or without the seat attached.* Suspension. The front and rear wheels have suspension that absorbs some of the rough terrain.* Durable spare wheels.* The front wheels lock forward (similar to a stroller). Press the button on top of each front wheel and lock in position.* Tilt adjustment and legrest adjustment.* Raincover included. It just feels like the seat is moving back and forth too much. Much larger than our Bugaboo which has a similar 2 point design.* The 5 point harnesses are a little awkward to use as the side straps are inserted into the buckle before the shoulder straps are attached. Not useless, but definitely better on other strollers. * Limited backrest recline options. It feels like the only options are upright or heavily reclined. In fact, a finer adjustment of the backrest angle is required.* The size when folded with the seat is not compact at all. In my humble opinion, this makes folding with the seat attached almost not that convenient. * The weight. All this mass is achieved by making the stroller heavier. It's not incredibly heavy like the Baby Jogger, but it's not light either.* The recline adjustment is in a very awkward position. The recline adjuster is located on the underside of the seat near the top of the steering wheel. So if you haven't extended the push rod sufficiently, the adjustment will be very cumbersome. Even if the steering wheel is not extended at all, the recline will not work because the top of the seat is touching the steering wheel. Controversial* Carrycot isn't included like the Bugaboo, but that also keeps the price down.* No color customization options. Of course, I've pretty much only seen this on the Bugaboo, and it's not a cheap feature anyway. Summary. So many features in such a great solid stroller. And yet I'm constantly frustrated when I use it. From the seat rocking too much (for my liking) to the odd recline to the very unwieldy folding, I keep coming back to our other strollers which really frustrates me as I was hoping to replace the Bugaboo which is very good, but it's not without its problems (my biggest complaint about the folding). Be sure to try it out for yourself and test out the tilt and fold before you buy to see how you think of these features.
