Safety is the top priority.
As a firefighter, this was one of the first things we bought after moving into our two story home. There's just no reason not to invest in something cheap enough to save your life. God willing, you won't need this device, but you don't want to be in a position where you need it and don't have it. I recommend at least 1 on the top floor of your unit in an easy-to-reach location. This ladder is well made and easy to deploy when needed, so even kids can do it if left at home and the worst happens. I would definitely recommend this product.
