Replacement for the long broken ones that came with my bar stools. No comparison! The old ones were thin, anemic, wobbly, and used a plastic ring with 6-8 fragile little bearings. These American-made steel behemoths are four times heavier and feature a bearing-filled bore for smooth, stable 360-degree rotation. Now my chairs are worthy of my exquisite back! I think the seat legs will rust and the seat cushion will turn to dust long before this product fails. There is considerable area for adjustment, the first picture shows the black recoil pad (size 6") overlapping the slots of the new gray plate so it was a straight bolted part although it was slightly larger. Tip, however, make sure you have longer bolts/screws as unlike the stock part this will not bend under hand pressure to allow the short screws to reach the locknut. This will also raise your seat slightly as shown in fig. #2, it's significantly thicker and stronger (old on the left, new on the right)
