This is a very different type of cat bed - at first I wasn't sure my girl would get it, but after carefully checking my assembly work and making sure it conformed to the cat code (he sniffs it too and rubs his face on it within about 2 business days) she finally got into it and has been enjoying it ever since. It's a very cute design - I love how it looks assembled, but it was HARD to put together. Part of the reason was that the instructions didn't make very clear which screws to put where, so it took some trial and error to figure it all out. You also need to pull hard to properly seat the cube's interior - this isn't a problem for me, but it might be for someone with limited arm strength. It's not something I would buy for an elderly person unless I assembled it for them first. Mounting part aside, this is a cool looking item that will definitely start a conversation!
