I do a lot of city driving in my 1990 Ford Ranger. It's not that I'm homeless, I have a really nice house. I simply refuse to pay outrageous hotel prices when I travel. So, for the price of a night in a decent hotel, I converted my ranger's bed into an RV and used a tall cab for the roof. I have electricity, a bed, a TV, a kitchen, water, a toilet and a pantry. Bathing is provided at truck stops. As you can imagine, it gets hot in a camper van at times. So I ordered one of those 12V dual head fans to circulate the air. Because of the price, I really wasn't expecting much when ordering. I only needed a quiet 12 volt fan to move the air. As a city dweller, I don't want to attract too much attention. That's why I keep my truck in good condition, clean and with a decent paint job. When I received the fan and turned it on I was impressed. The fan moves quite a bit of air, and directional heads allow me to direct the air to where I need it. I was so impressed that I ordered two more that evening. With two of these and an open window, I can create a light breeze in the camper. I also put one in the cab of the truck. This should help you not use AC as often. Which in turn should help increase fuel economy. Instead of using the supplied adhesive pads to attach the fan, I glued small magnets to the underside. This allows me to place them anywhere on a metal camper or truck. I have just received them. As such, I cannot confirm their longevity at this time. I don't think these fans cost that much, and I save that money by not staying in motels when I travel. I could buy a new one every month and still have hundreds of dollars in my pocket. Which allows me to travel more.
