They work to some extent
I ordered these to ensure a 1/4 inch seam when quilting. Positioned to the right of the presser foot 1/4 inch from the needle (or farther if needed). ) guide the pieces of fabric as you sew them together for more precise stitching when sewing. I was surprised how thin they are. I glued 2-3 strips on top of each other to make a thicker strip and they worked as expected.
