Haven't had a chance to test this but just looking at it I think I'd twist my bike frame before I manage to break this thing. It looks really solid and is more than enough for anything a wheeler might tow. The receiver's material is a little thinner than a standard car receiver, so while it's strong enough for a wheeled vehicle, it's noticeably lighter than a heavy vehicle receiver, which is great. Holes so I would recommend a ball like the one in my picture and mount it with the flats facing forward/back. This leaves a little more room to swing around any attachments you attach. The Ice House wearable tongue is what is shown in my drawing and was the original purpose of this purchase, although I'm sure I'll be using it a lot more in the future. I used an extra 1/2" receiver pin from my car, and it's small enough in diameter to wiggle in the hole, just enough for the tongue to lean over snow, ramps, etc. I received a KFI jerky block and a bow Smittybilt 1/2" shackle for Christmas. The shackle pin diameter is ideal for the accessory hole as shown in the other picture. This should be useful on the trail, sprinting or towing etc. come in handy and will serve you much better than just throwing a strap over a ball.As for hole spacing, if there was more room between holes it would have a good chance of hitting the bottom of the trailer frame.I have a 5x8 -Cargo trailer attached which I tow my bike on so I can park it and there is just enough clearance between the receiver and the trailer frame so add more for more hole spacing and there could be problems I wish the plate was something Welded longer and wider so the receiver could be mounted upside down for slightly lower ball height, but that could mean the plate would be even heavier, so I'm not sure sure if that would work or not. However, if the ball is bottom mounted, the ball will be too close to the receiver stock for the hitch to hit the ball. Oh, and in addition to the sticker and card, my set also included a Feral pen! Not a big deal, but it was a nice touch!
