I bought mine at a pawn shop for $5 and it was money well spent. But $40? I would not. It's a nice little speaker and if it's as durable as advertised it's perfect for camping, hiking and the beach, its size is one of its main selling points but it's a small speaker and you have to understand what you're getting into. it can only seem so big. That and the fact that it doesn't work as a power bank like my JBL does are two factors why it's not my #1 portable speaker. I use mine as a speaker for my Echo Point and am very happy with its performance.
