Great fan, smart home integration takes work

This is a really attractive, almost silent fan. Our electrician installed it in our home along with several other fans and said it was a "moderate" difficulty. Love the remote control features and really appreciate the quiet operation - you only hear noise in a perfectly quiet room or when it's changing between low/mid/high volume. The light is warm white (not quite warm) and fully adjustable. Overall very good. The Fansio app is normal and optional. It has some cool features worth checking out - the main one for us is fan scheduling. There's also a sleep timer, light timer, and seasonal reminder (to switch modes, but you still have to get up and physically flip the switch). Installing the fans in the app was pretty easy, but it took a bit of time as it was definitely not bug free. But after installation no problem. Of course, if you have several Fansio fans in your house, you can also control them all via the app. The remote control has several non-standard, very useful functions, including: dimming the light (press and hold the light button); "Random Lights" function to pretend you are at home; Power Off Delay (so you can leave the room before the lights go out); and a random fan speed to "simulate a natural breeze". The latter annoys us a bit, as you can hear a click every time the fan speed changes. However, other functions are very useful. You don't need to use an app for these functions, the remote does it - and has a handy reminder of what each button does, printed on the back. Why don't more remote controls do this? With all of this, the integration with Google Home isn't up to scratch. (We don't have Alexa anymore, so I can't troubleshoot this issue). As soon as you contact Fansio, Google Home sees 2 devices - a fan and a light. Add both to a room via the Home app and you can turn them on and off with the Assistant or the Home app. You can also dim the light. That's all. You cannot change the fan speed, enable timers, or perform any other functions that you can perform with the Fansio remote and app. To be honest, given the extremely limited features, I'm not sure I would add fans to Google Home now that I know. I think the luxury of turning the fan/light on/off with our voice is all they thought we wanted/needed. Overall, this is a very good fan with very limited intelligence. Not entirely sure if it's worth the relatively high price tag ($194 at the time of writing this article) compared to non-smart fans from the same brand, hence only 4 stars. If they improve integration with Google Home, 5 stars - but only then.
