Removing the restriction off the mouse wheel allows it to spin for more than 15 seconds after one turn, which is a very fascinating feature. When a page is loading in blocks and you need to scroll to the bottom, it can be helpful, but it frequently won't work. The wheel sounds horrendously loud when you simply navigate a page on the web or a document (although you grow used to it rapidly), even though in conventional mode you may scroll it exactly as many steps as you need. I struggled to get used to using the left wheel (using the right index finger is much more handy, but it takes some getting used to) and the two buttons to the left of the LMB.
