Review on 🔒 Weston 65-0501-W Pro Advantage Vacuum Sealer, 11-inch, Stainless Steel and Black by Theresa Kirkland

I bought this from Revain in June 2016. In the beginning everything was great. Sealed like a champion. Seemed solid etc. However now the vacuum part is not working properly. Sometimes it just won't close. I've found that if I click the center (W logo) I can move it, but it still doesn't seem that strong. Interestingly, this is because you have to press firmly on both sides when closing the lid for it to latch properly - I suspect the lid will flex a bit over time and repeated use. As far as I can tell everything is fine - seals etc, nothing has failed or is undamaged. So I was initially satisfied, but then disappointed in the medium/long term. This is a shame as I was willing to pay a little more for what I considered a "premium" product. YMMV of course - I like the size and 'style'. Also, this model isn't listed on their website - I wonder if it looks like Walmart, ie "made for Amazon". This can be good or bad - sometimes cheaper materials/construction benefit from a well-known brand. ============================================== = === ====UPDATE! Maybe a little overreacted. ============================================== = === ===== I contacted support by phone - most likely the gaskets will come and offer to replace the block or send a kit to replace the gaskets. Let's see how the new seals behave. So I think it's important to understand that things like seals degrade over time - it's just the nature of the beast. The representative also mentioned that their website is going through some changes so it may not reflect the current information etc etc. Very happy with the support I've received so far, so that's good.
