Review on Medium 🧤 Swany Screen Arctic Mittens by Eddie Breezy

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Just what I needed and really cold days.

Just what I needed on very cold winter days, I photograph birds from the ground in winter. The biggest challenge is keeping your thumb and forefinger warm enough to feel the camera controls. Swany is the first glove I've been able to work with at 0°F. To make matters worse, I added two heat packs to each glove. One in the liner next to my palm and the other at the end of the mitten touching the backs of my fingers. With just my thumb and the next two fingers open, I was able to work at -13°F. The zippers were a little fiddly at first, but after a few uses they became relatively easy to use. Even with hand warmers, previous mittens didn't really keep out the cold, even when the end of the mitten was folded over the fingers. Cold air gets in. The zipper closes the mitten so thermal hand warmers are more effective. I didn't give 5 stars because the earbuds are sewn on. This makes putting on the Swany a little more difficult. Overall worth the price.
