I have an old home theater receiver that originally cost $3500. I wanted to be a lazy couch potato so I added bluetooth with this module. two flashing modes. One is a short rapid series of flashes of pairing mode, and the other is a longer and slower series of 6 (I think) flashes with a short pause when the device is waiting to connect to a paired device from its list. So simple, easy to use, but how does it sound? With a Toslink digital output it sounded fine on my system, with an RCA output which I suspect is the most likely choice for most people. actually not that good. it sounded like the music was playing through the ceiling. Very very disappointing as my receiver uses decent but 10 year old DAC technology this suggests that the sound quality from the built in DAC is not that good. Honestly, this should blow the sound quality out of my onboard DAC. and it's not that close. So in general he needs a DAC. BUY IF: Planning to use Toslink and thinking 5 stars MISS IF: Planning to use RCA and thinking 2 stars
