When I opened the box I found the units did not have a chip required for the printer to recognize them. You need to remove the chips from the used printer cartridges and install them in the newly purchased cartridges. There are tools in the kit for this, but extreme care must be taken to avoid damaging the chips. It is important to ensure that the chip is installed in the same configuration/direction. Second, after you install the chips, they don't read ink levels and remain "blank" on the printer's display, but they work. I would have bought elsewhere if more was described in the product description. Update: The seller contacted me and said that the description has been updated to indicate that the chips required to work with the printer are missing (you must use the chips with older HP cartridges). This resolved my concerns about the original review. I have updated my rating to reflect the seller's quick response to the issue and to appreciate the seller's commitment to quality service.
