I paint exclusively with Daniel Smith, Windsor Newton and Holbein watercolors. High-quality paints make watercolor painting much easier and give better results. The reason some watercolor novices fail or get frustrated isn't because of their talent, it's because of their materials. High-quality inks and papers increase the chances of success. A little paint is enough, press some onto a tray and let dry at least overnight, longer is better. A damp brush or a drop of water will quickly bring them back to life. Freshly pressed colors require too much product. Buy the best you can and add as many to your colors as you can afford. Remember that you only need the primary colors to be able to mix multiple colors. Happy painting!
