Large bits seem to work well but M3 and M4 bits were difficult to machine. I bought these taps solely for cutting holes in my 3D prints (since my FDM 3D printer cannot print with such a fine thread pitch). However, they worked great with my 24V wireless driver. But that's the difference between trying to use a cheap $3 chuck and a high-quality $150 drill with a gorilla-like handle, the chuck. I highly recommend using a drop of oil otherwise you may cause slight contamination of your through hole on the 3D part.
