I bought this rug for my 10 year old daughter to use her new 3D pen for Christmas. We had never used a 3D pen before and were a little skeptical about how difficult it would be to draw something with it. I was also looking for a protective surface to use the stylus so we wouldn't damage our tables. Well, this rug is the answer to all of our problems. First, the mat is made of a very durable material that will not melt or change color upon direct contact with our 3D pen. Second, the rug is full of different types of lines and shapes that you can use to create any shape you need for your masterpiece. We are very happy that we found this rug. We were originally looking for something to protect our furniture with, but what we found was much better. You simply follow the grooves in the mat with your pen and you can draw your newly formed figures right out of the mat. It is so easy. My 10 year old settled in in about 10 minutes. I just supervise her so she doesn't use the pen wrong, she doesn't need any help to create cool objects as she is easy to use with 3Dmate design mat. I recommend everyone who is looking for a tool to make drawing with a 3D pen easier to use this amazing innovation.
