Like most things with fur, faux fur or real they shed a little but as a 'soft' owner and working with faux fur sewing and sewing this was to be expected so it didn't bother me . I was a little surprised to see that they were just strips of faux fur wrapped around a rubber band (glued to connect the ends) and not a rubber band encased in a tube, but they did still not unraveled and it's not yet obvious since they didn't stretch out fully. When you think about it, cut out stripes make sense for both fur and fabric. Overall I'm very satisfied and the "big ones" LOVE them so I would definitely recommend and buy them again.
