HP printer has stopped printing indicating low magenta level. I ordered a full set of Halofox cartridges (You Toner Co.) and magenta fitted perfectly; However, the printer did not recognize the cartridge. As you can see from the images above, the Halofox cartridges do not exactly match the shape of the HP cartridges, leading me to believe they would never fit. My wife tried to remove the plastic wrap from the cartridge (don't do this contrary to the instructions on the cartridge). I emailed the supplier asking them to return the product and they replied the same day offering a replacement or credit. whatever i want In the meantime I reinstalled the software and found that the black cartridge light was not grouped with the three colors but was actually attached to a magenta error message with a small icon that was much smaller than the other colored lights. Conclusion: the cartridges are as advertised and all the confusion was USER ERROR. You Toner was very quick to respond to every email and sent a set of replacement cartridges for the ones we screwed up.? PS I didn't understand the question above"Easy to know"? ; therefore not appreciated.
