My teenager was having trouble sleeping with multiple alarms and needed a louder option with an automatic setting. I connected this siren to a 12v power supply, a 10k potentiometer and a smart socket. Seems to work well and it's loud! It also uses multiple red LEDs to give a decently bright flashing light. Overall I think the design is ok. The piezo element of the siren is glued to the front frame and the control board is screwed to the rear panel. This created a lot of free space inside the alarm to accommodate additional circuitry (trimming potentiometers). I have found that the alarm can accept voltages in excess of 12V, which is good as most 12V adapters can output almost 20V DC.
