I installed a Chevy Avalanche which is basically a Suburban/Yukon frame. I didn't have much wiring left and I routed it from underneath to the driver's door, following the wiring and staying on the driver's side. I drilled a very small hole (the wire is thinner than a #2 pencil) and sealed it with putty and silicone sealant. This area is already elevated, creating a natural shelter under the truck. If you want to go all the way up front where the most spin is, you don't have enough cords, you need an extension cord. I suppose if you had suburban or Yukon you could go in and do it very easily, the Avalanche didn't have that option. Loading time is a few extra seconds (mine is linked to the taillights), but since the camera is already in the rearview mirror, you're already looking there to see something behind you.
