To be honest the neighborhood kids come to our house asking for Blockels. They'll be lucky if they get there before my kids run out of screen time! Haha! The concept is simple. Create a game with colorful elements on the block board. Transfer your "plan" of the game to your tablet using a photo, edit the blocks and connect the boards in the app to create a complete game, and then play! It's very easy to use. My kids had a time or two where the camera didn't catch their plan, but for the most part they were successful in a variety of lighting conditions and didn't need much help. Contrary to other reviews, we found that without blockchains you CANNOT create games in the app. Blocks cannot be moved after they have been entered into the program. They can only be tweaked to look different or evoke a slightly different reaction. I actually like it because it gives kids a break from the screen haha! We love this game because it gives kids a chance to collaborate and be creative, and also allows them to see a very simple visualization of the creation of the digital world. They love playing their games after they make them and they are so proud of themselves and can't wait for us to try them too! ;) An excellent and inexpensive gift, in my opinion, is best suited for children aged 5-10 years. So much fun (almost too much fun) for kids, and it's a great tool for so many areas of brain development. It develops the concepts of interactive/collaborative play, imaginative play, fine motor development, problem solving, general thinking, and of course, fun! If your kids love screens like I do, this is one of the best and most productive ways to use their screen time. Buy it!
