First of all this product is well made, easy to use and the variety of tips is fantastic. I admit I bought them because my favorite brand of Micron ink pens are very expensive and their packaging, nib types etc seemed comparable. Well it isn't. I work a lot with coptic markers on ink outlines and it is important that they are waterproof and smudge proof. Coptics are now alcohol based so admittedly it's difficult to find a pen that doesn't work when you use it, while Microns are the only ones I've found. They are definitely not up to this task. However, they are very easy to use, smooth, even applied to paper and canvas (although on canvas they need to dry much longer to avoid hand smudging) and the black is very dark. The price is worth it, but the phrase about water resistance and stain protection doesn't apply.
